Human Communication Chapter 3 >> Listening , Chapter 6 >> Non verbal communication

Every day we are listening to all around our family, friends, teachers, strangers, and even listen to music also belongs. I can't imagine if we live without listening. According to the International Listening Association, listing is "the process of receiving, construing meaning from, and responding to spoken and or non-verbal massages" (Emmert, 1994). Therefore, listening to what others say is a sign of respect and courtesy. It is feeling good when someone remember something you said. Whether it was something from yesterday, a week ago or .... It's just like " Wow, you actually listen to me."  I Love that feeling !

Nonverbal communication is communication without words. Everyday, we respond to thousand on nonverbal cues an behavior including postures, facial expression, eye gaze, gesture, and tone of voice. Nonverbal detail reveal who we are and impact how we relate to other people. For example, a look of surprise is easily identified by its widened eyes and gaping mouth. When something unexpected occurs, our eyes widen and our pupils grow in order t take in our surrounding more fully and react more quickly.
